First Scuba Diving Centre in Padang Bai
Geko Dive Bali first opened in June 1997. At 15 years of age, it is the oldest dive centre in Padang Bai. Geko Dive Bali is a PADI Resort since 1998 and became a PADI 5 Star Resort many years ago. This Bali dive centre has also recently become a TecRec Technical Dive Centre!
We are fortunate to have one of Bali's best dive staff! The Geko Dive Team speaks Balinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Indonesian and Japanese. There may be a bit of British, Australian and Thai here and there too. All of our dive guides are excellent divers, PADI Divemaster certified and fully insured, with years of working experience on Bali's numerous dive sites. For the Geko Dive Team, scuba diving remains a passion, first and foremost.
Fun Dive in Bali, Indonesia
Diving with Geko Dive Bali has always been fun and serene. To make sure that it stays this way, we have no intention on getting any bigger than we already are. Diving in large herds at dive factories is not a divestyle that the Geko Dive Team enjoys.
Scuba diving should be a personal experience! We therefore keep small dive groups (4 max and often less), with similarly experienced divers together. This low diver to professional is also applied when you learn to dive and study for your PADI Open Water Diver Course. This ratio drops even further when you complete an introduction dive/Discover Scuba Diving program with only 2 divers to one instructor. Want an instructor all to yourself? Just book one of our special private PADI courses!
We believe all our guests deserve the ultimate diving adventure with utmost enjoyment and safety. The Geko Dive Team is always happy to hear what you would like to see underwater. Be it a macro critter, like frogfish, rhinopia, siagiani squat lobster, ghost pipefish, orang utang crab, tiger shrimp, Spanish dancer or nudibranches, or a large animal, such as manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, mola-mola oceanic sunfish or pelagic fish, we will do everything we can to find it for you in order for you admire it or take photographs. We can't work miracles but we certainly will try.
Free Nitrox in Padang Bai
The Geko Dive Team just finished installing its brand new filling station, complete with Enriched Air continuous filling. Slow filling and double filtration ensure clean, good fills with quality gas.
Our standard Nitrox blend is 28% in order to cover all recreational depths (other mixes can be blended on request). We believe that diving Nitrox affords divers tremendously increased safety and better dives by increasing bottom time. This is why we offer our standard blend for free to all certified Enriched Air Nitrox divers.
Are you not a PADI Enriched Air Diver yet? Not a problem: the Geko can show you how it's done and teach you the course. It only takes one afternoon and is one of the most affordable courses on offer. Don't miss out!
Green Dive Centre
We also strongly believe that scuba divers have a responsibility to the underwater world. This is why we do everything we can to help preserve and care for the environment in many different ways. Please see our conservation and education programs for more information.
Webcam and Weather Station Gone Live!
The Geko Dive Team is proud to bring you East Bali's only weather station broadcasting live data over the Internet. This is a great addition to our massively popular webcam. Wind, rain, temperature, atmospheric pressure and even UV solar radiations: now you can be informed of all the weather trends in Padang Bai.
As for the webcam, the picture is updated every minute, night and day, 7 days a week. It is best viewed directly from our dedicated webcam and weather station page. Hope you enjoy this & keep on coming back!
Discover Bali´s Amazing Underwater Wildlife
Swim with manta rays. These beautiful creatures grace us with their presence all year long at Nusa Penida.
Find the elusive mola-mola oceanic sunfish on one of our Mola-Mola Sunfish Safaris.
Come play with reef sharks. Although endangered in most places, whitetip reef sharks and even wobbegongs (in season) are still plentiful on our local dive sites and coral reefs.
Low Season Is The Best Season to Dive in Bali
Bali is reaching low season! This means more wet days and less people in the water. This is the perfect time for divers who like small groups, close interaction with fish, be they small or large, and even private tuition or guiding.
Macro critters, such as frogfish and pygmy seahorses, ornate and robust ghost pipefish, nudibranches and crustaceans, are thriving in Bali this time of year. Larger animals, like manta rays, sharks and turtles, can be approached more easily as there are less divers in the water. Plus, we still enjoy sunshine daily.
Don't spoil it by spreading the word too much, but now is the best time to dive in Bali
New Statue Garden on Padang Bai's Reef
Padang Bai divers have been working hard to offer you a new dive site. They have already sank more than 18 statues in the hope of providing a new habitat for marine fauna and another exciting dive site for scuba divers.
All divers interested are welcomed to do their bit and contribute their own statues. Email Geko Dive for more info.
