Bali is an incredible place to try scuba diving for the first time! Padangbai is especially welcoming for beginners, and Blue Lagoon is a beautiful first dive spot with gentle reef areas, colourful corals, and plenty of fish, so you can learn at an easy pace and enjoy the experience from the very first moment!
PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is a half-day experience designed for first-timers who want to try diving without committing to a full certification course. It’s also a great first step, and it can be credited toward your next training, such as the PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver course. You can choose to do 1 or 2 ocean dives, depending on how much time and adventure you want.

Discover Scuba Diving day with Geko Dive Bali
1) Welcome + briefing at our dive shop in Padangbai
We’ll fit your equipment, explain how everything works, and walk you through the plan in a clear, relaxed way. No pressure, no rushing.
2) Shallow-water skills at Blue Lagoon
You’ll practice a few simple skills in very shallow water first, so you feel comfortable before heading deeper. Blue Lagoon is a great spot for this, with colourful coral and plenty of fish right from the start.
If you’re nervous, that’s normal. We’ll take it step-by-step, and we only continue when you’re comfortable!
3) Your ocean dive adventure
Once you’re ready, you’ll head out for a guided sea dive where you can explore the reef, spot colourful fish, and enjoy your first real taste of Bali’s marine life.
4) Back to the dive shop to relax
After the dives, you’re welcome back at our Padangbai dive shop to unwind and refuel with lunch at our restaurant, plus water, tea/coffee, and a soft drink, all included in the price.
