Scuba Diving Gili Biaha Island Sites Photography Gallery
Type:
Small island, reef slope, deep walls and shark cave.
Access:
25 minutes by boat, north of Padang Bai on the east coast.
Coral Reef State:
Very good coverage of hard and soft corals.
Fish Species:
Excellent number. Moray eels, napoleon wrasses, tunas, barracudas, turtles, octopus, cuttlefish. High chance of seeing sharks (white tip reef sharks).
Current:
Moderate to strong, normally big surge in the afternoon.
Visibility:
25m+ (best June-October).
Note:
Can be a difficult site around full and new moon (down currents). Near or inside the cave, divers constantly need to equalise due to the effect of the swell!
Highlights:
Sleeping white tips in the shark cave down at 12 meters. The view from the darkness inside the cave into the crystal-clear blue water full of swirling fish outside is a picture you'll never forget.
